Imperial ambitions

Distributor will cease working with pharmacies and will focus on state procurement

In early June, Imperia-Pharma, a St. Petersburg-based pharmaceutical distributor surprised the market with the news on bankruptcy. It turned out later that it was only Imperia-Pharma’s subsidiary that was being liquidated, and the bankruptcy claim was submitted by ProfSoyuz affiliated with Imperia-Pharma. The first court hearing was held on 15th of June. The distributor remains on the market; however, it will no longer work with pharmaceutical retailers and will focus on state procurement. To this end, it already has a separate entity called Grama. Experts are sure that Imperia-Pharma’s withdrawal from the commercial market is not related with the economic crisis.

Ministry of Health offers to equip villages with Skype and improves functionality of its website

Ministry of Health image spending and ideas for promoting web technologies to the patients excite the public. Published results of the bidding for updating the Ministry’s official website together with the Health Minister’s announcement of а new medical service for inhabitants of remote villages — doctor’s advice by Skype — taking place against the background of a regular inspection of the Ministry by the Auditing Chamber do not encourage optimism and make some experts doubt the adequacy of the things going on.
